The name of the castle means new Crete and was built by a few families who escaped from Crete, during the Turkish occupation. It was built on the hills for security against pirates. The castle contains elements of Byzantine and Venetian architecture. During summer at the castle, you can enjoy a variety of events. It offers an amazing view and of course a unique atmosphere.
